Aleppo Fundraising Campaign Auction Raises QR 3.2 Million

Doha, January 02 (QNA) - The organizing committee for the Qatar National Day celebrations announced that proceeds from the sale of a part of in-kind donations collected from the Aleppo fundraising campaign amounted to QR 1,875,000.
  Another sale of a range of gold jewelry displayed by humanitarian organizations that participated in the fundraising campaign reached QR 1,400,000.
  The auction, which was held in Dar Al Bahi Auction House at Katara on Monday evening, included a number of classic and modern motorcycles and distinctive number plates and various pieces of jewelry, as well as a range of accessories and antiquarian items.
  The committee launched Aleppo fundraising campaign on 18 December last year, and announced that it collected more than 290 million since the campaign launch in Darb El Saai along with in-kind donations for the people of Aleppo.
Out of its interest in community participation, the organizing committee held the event in coordination with Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities and with the participation of five charities - Qatar Charity, Eid Charity, Qatar Red Crescent Society, Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) and Afif Charity.
