GCC Foreign Ministers Conclude Meeting in Kuwait

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial Council concluded its 144th session today in preparation for the meeting of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) at its 38th session, to due to open tomorrow, Tuesday . Qatar's delegation to the meeting was led by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed in Abdulrahman Al -Thani.


Qatar Reiterates Its Firm Stance Rejecting Violence and Terrorism

The State of Qatar has reiterated its firm stance against violence and terrorism, regardless of their motives and reasons, and its total rejection of all acts that sanctify blood and sanctities and innocent lives. It stressed that terrorism and extremism in all their forms and manifestations continue to be a source of threat to our peoples and our countries, and to our economic and social achievements, calling for continuation and intensification of individual and collective efforts to eradicate this scourge.


Diplomatic Institute Organizes Forum on Combating Violent Extremism

The Foreign Ministry's Diplomatic Institute organized on Monday a forum on combating violent extremism on the sidelines of the seventh meeting for the board of Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF), which will be hosted in Doha on Tuesday for the first time in the Middle East.



Qatar Confirms Support for Somalia Based on its Principled Position on Global Commitments

HE the Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Foreign Ministry Ambassador Tariq bin Ali Al Ansari, met with the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Head of the UN Mission in Somalia at the UN headquarters in Mogadishu, Michael Keating. The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides, as well as matters of mutual interest.


Qatar Participates in GCC FMs Meeting in Kuwait

GCC Foreign Ministers began on Monday in Kuwait their 144th meeting ahead of the 38th session of the Supreme Council of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on 5 and 6 December. HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani headed Qatar's delegation in the meeting.


Qatar Strongly Condemns Pakistan Bombing

The State of Qatar strongly condemned the bombing of a police truck in the city of Quetta in southwestern Pakistan, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries. In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Foreign Ministry reiterated the State of Qatar's firm position in rejection of violence and terrorism regardless of motives and reasons.


Qatar Strongly Condemns Afghanistan Attacks

The State of Qatar strongly condemned the attacks which took place in southeastern Afghanistan on Tuesday, killing and wounding several people. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar's firm position rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of motives and reasons.



UN General Assembly Re-elects Qatar for Human Rights Council

The United Nations General Assembly, at its 72nd Session has re-elected the State of Qatar to the United Nations Human Rights Council by 155 votes for the State of Qatar from 193 votes and for a fourth round of three-year term for 2018-2020.
