Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Meets Tajikistan Foreign Minister

Building of Qatar Embassy in Somalia Severely Damaged by Mogadishu Explosion

HE Director of the Information Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi said that the building of Qatar's Embassy in the Somali capital Mogadishu has been severely damaged by the explosion of a car bomb near the embassy building on the K5 Junction on Saturday evening.


Qatar Calls on International Community to Promote Science, Innovation and Technologies

The State of Qatar stressed the importance of making further efforts to create a favourable environment for encouraging science, innovation and dissemination of technologies, and for promoting access to all Information and Communications Technology's (ICT) services for the benefit of all sectors of society, especially women, youth and children. Foreign Minister Congratulates French Counterpart on Azoulay's UNESCO Victory

HE Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani on Saturday held via telephone a conversation with HE Foreign Minister of the French Republic Jean-Yves Le Drian. During the telephone conversation, HE the foreign minister congratulated his French counterpart on Audrey Azoulay's winning of the post of director general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), reaffirming the important role of the organization in the fields of education, culture and science and wishing to work together with the friendly French Republic in support of the organization and its honorable mission.



Foreign Minister Meets US Counterpart

Qatar's Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met here today with HE US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson . During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and means of enhancing them. HE the Foreign Minister briefed the American side on the current Gulf crisis and the illegal measures taken against the State of Qatar by the siege countries.


NHRC Monitors Serious Violations Against Qatari Students in Siege Countries

The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) said that it had monitored several serious violations committed by educational institutions in the siege three countries, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain, especially the UAE, against Qatari students in education as a result of these countries severing diplomatic relations with the State of Qatar and the subsequent declaration of an illegal siege on the State.


Foreign Minister Stresses Need to Explain Dispute Before Talk About Siege Countries' Complaints

HE Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said that there can't be talk about complaints or accusations by the countries that imposed the siege on the State of Qatar until these countries explain the problem, adding that mass measures were taken against the State of Qatar by the three countries in coordination with Egypt to close off ports and the sole land border and then they issued statements without these measures being preceded by any communication or talks but, instead, the measures were preceded by media attacks based on the crime of hacking Qatar News Agency .
