Expo Turkey by Qatar, organized as part of the strong partnership between the two countries, kicked off on Wednesday with more than 150 Turkish companies exhibiting on an area of 20,000 square meters at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held a telephone conversation this evening with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. During the call, HH the Emir congratulated the Turkish President on the constitutional amendments approved in the historic referendum which was held today to move from the system of parliamentary government to the presidential system, which confirmed the confidence of the Turkish people in its leadership . HH the Emir wished President Erdogan continued success, and the strong relations between Qatar and Turkey further development.

Qatar Red Crescent (QRCS) and the Turkish Red Crescent on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to scale up cooperation for two years, building upon a previous one that enabled QRCS's presence in Turkey to secure relief aid into Syria, with logistical support from the Turkish side. The MoU was signed in Doha by QRCS's President, Dr. Mohamed bin Ghanem Al-Ali Al-Maadheed, and the Turkish Red Crescent's President, Dr. Kerem Kinik.

HE President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan left Doha on Wednesday evening after a two-day official visit to Qatar. The Turkish President and his accompanying delegation were seen off upon departure at Hamad International Airport by HE Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, HE Qatar's Ambassador to Turkey Salem bin Mubarak Al Shafi and HE Turkey's Ambassador to Qatar Ahmet Dimerok.

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on Wednesday hosted a luncheon banquet in honor of HE President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his accompanying delegation. The banquet was attended by number of Their Excellencies the Ministers and Their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying the Turkish President.

HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan held an official round of talks at the Emiri Diwan on Wednesday. The session of talks was attended by HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani and a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers, and members of the official delegation of the Turkish side.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mouloud Jawish Ihsanoglu on Wednesday hailed the 'distinctive' bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey, which have achieved a remarkable growth in all fields. In a statement to reporters made on the occasion of the official inauguration of the Turkish Hospital in Doha today, the Turkish top diplomat said Qatar and Turkey share excellent fraternal relations, stressing the special bilateral cooperation as well as the ongoing joint collaboration in various regional issues of concern.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stressed the importance of Qatari-Turkish relations, which witnessed a rapid development in all fields, especially in recent years. The Turkish President said that the strong relations between the two countries are based on the historical ties and reached to an excellent level. In an interview with (Al Arab) Qatari newspaper published Wednesday, the Turkish president said that both countries have the same strong political will that will promote these relations and the mutual trust between the two countries has led the relations to a strategic level.

HE Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah met here today with Turkish Defence Minister Fikri Isik, who is currently visiting Qatar. Talks during the meeting dealt with issues of mutual interest and ways of developing them to serve the common interests of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey.

HE President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived Tuesday in Doha for an official visit to the State of Qatar. President Erdogan and the accompanying delegation were welcomed upon arrival at Hamad International Airport by HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada , HE Qatar's Ambassador to Turkey Salem Mubarak Al Shafi and the Turkish Ambassador to Qatar Ahmet Dimerok.
