Qatar Condemns Shooting Attack in Istanbul

The State of Qatar has condemned the shooting attack that took place in Istanbul, Turkey, leaving scores killed or injured. In a statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the State of Qatar's firm position rejecting violence and terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The Ministry stressed the need to strengthening coordination among world countries, and to unite the international community's efforts in order to ensure the eradication of terrorism and its causes. The Ministry stressed Qatar's solidarity with the government of Turkey, and its full support for all measures it takes to maintain its security and stability.


Prime Minister Sends Cable of Condolences to Russian Counterpart

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al -Thani has sent a cable of condolences to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, on the assassination of Russia's ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov.



HH the Emir Sends Cable of Condolences to Russian President

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani sent Tuesday a cable of condolences to President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the assassination of the Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov, who was murdered on Monday. HH the Emir also expressed strong condemnation and denunciation of the criminal attack on the Ambassador, stressing the State of Qatar's firm position that rejects violence and terrorism in all their forms, whatever their motives and causes.


Qatar Condemns Killing of Russian Ambassador to Turkey

The State of Qatar strongly condemned and denounced the killing of Russian Ambassador to Turkey, Andrey Karlov, who was shot during an art exhibition in the Turkish capital of Ankara. In a statement issued Monday, the Foreign Ministry reaffirmed that the incident is a criminal act that contradicts with all divine religions, human values and diplomatic norms. The State of Qatar stressed in the statement its confidence in the Turkish authorities' ability to detain the assailants and bring them to justice. The statement voiced sincere condolences to Russia and the family of the ambassador. It also reiterated Qatar's firm stance in rejection of violence and terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.


HH the Emir Leaves Turkey's Trabzon

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on Sunday left the Turkish city of Trabzon. HH the Emir and the accompanying delegation were seen off at Trabzon international Airport by Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak as well as members of the Qatari Embassy in Turkey.


HH the Emir, President of Turkey Open New Senol Gunes Stadium

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan opened the new Senol Gunes Stadium of Turkish football team Trabzonspor in Turkey's city of Trabzon on Sunday. Cutting the ceremonial opening ribbon was attended by Their Excellences members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Emir. On the Turkish side, the ceremony was attended by a number of ministers, senior officials and athletes along with a large public crowd.



HH the Emir, President of Turkey Co-Chair the Qatar-Turkey High-Level Strategic Committee Meeting

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan co-chaired the Second meeting of Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee, which was held in the Turkish city of Trabzon on Sunday. At the outset of the meeting, HE the Turkish President greeted HH the Emir and the accompanying delegation, pointing that the meeting was held on an extraordinary day that coincides with the National Day of the State of Qatar. President Erdogan expressed, in his name and on behalf of the Turkish people, thanks and appreciation to Qatar for the solidarity with the people of Aleppo and cancelling all festivities of this day. HE President Erdogan praised the relations between the two countries, stressing the importance of developing and deepening them to serve the interests of both sides. He pointed that the agreements signed during the first meeting of the Committee and the agreements which will be signed today, will further strengthen the close cooperation between the two countries.


HH the Emir and President of Turkey Discuss Regional Developments

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed today the latest developments in the region and particularly in Syria, in light of the tragic events in Aleppo as all international efforts to stop the genocide by the Syrian regime and its allies continue to stumble. HH the Emir and the Turkish President had called on the international community, during the bilateral meeting they held ahead of the second meeting of Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee, to pressure the Syrian regime to end its massacres against innocent Syrian civilians and implement the resolutions of Geneva 1.
