U.S. Expresses Doubt Over Actions of Countries Blockading Qatar

The U.S. State Department expressed doubts over the allegations the GCC used to put the State of Qatar under siege, particularly Doha's alleged support of terrorism. State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert expressed Washington's surprise that the GCC member states which enforced the siege on the State of Qatar are yet to make public its alleged claims made towards Qatar. She added that "doubt is raised about the actions taken by Saudi Arabia and the UAE," the longer they take to make those claims public.



IMO Secretary-General Receives Message from Minister of Transport and Communication

HE Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Ki Tack Lim has received a message from HE Qatar's Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti pertaining to the violations of the international maritime agreements by the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain through the embargo they imposed on the Qatari navigation in contravention of maritime conventions and treaties, in particular the 1982 Convention.

State of Qatar Hands Legal Files on the Blockade to International Organizations

The Ministry of Transport and Communications, General Civil Aviation Authority and Qatar Postal Services Company (Q-Post) have handed over, to the international organizations, their legal files regarding the legal violations, damages and the blockade escalatory measures imposed on the State of Qatar by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Chairman and Managing Director of Qatar Postal Service Company (Q-Post) Faleh Mohamed Al Naemi has termed the suspension of postal services with Qatar by each of the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain as a clear violation of the constitution and agreements of Universal Postal Union (UPU), which should be respected by all member states.


NHRC Chairman: Qatar is the Only GCC State to Establish Regulatory Authority for Charity Activities

Chairman of the National Committee for Human Rights (NHRC) Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri met here on Thursday with the Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Partnerships with the Middle East and Central Asia at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Rashid Khalikov. During the meeting, they discussed the humanitarian and human rights challenges resulting from the siege imposed by Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain on the State of Qatar. The two sides discussed the unprecedented measures taken by the isolation cluster, classifying some of the Qatari humanitarian organizations as terrorist organizations, on the terrorism list issued by those States as a unilateral coercive measure.

HE Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani on Wednesday met HE Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu. The meeting reviewed bilateral relations between the two fraternal countries and means of boosting and developing them.


UN Secretary General Supports Kuwait's Efforts in Deescalating GCC Crisis

UN Secretary General Antonito Guterres expressed his full support for Kuwait's efforts to deescalate tension and promote an effective dialogue, his spokesman said on Wednesday. UN Spokesman Stephane Dujarric said the Secretary General has been following the crisis in the Gulf region closely.
