Qatar Supports Efforts Exerted for Reaching Political Solution to Syrian Crisis

The State of Qatar affirmed its keenness to support all international efforts aimed at reaching a political solution to the Syrian crisis. This came at Qatar's speech delivered by Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Office in Geneva HE Ambassador Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri during the interactive dialogue with the International Independent Investigation Commission on the Syrian Arab Republi under item 4 before the 35th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).


Foreign Ministry Secretary-General: Qatar Is Proud of Its Humanitarian Efforts

HE Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi said that Qatar's hosting of the 10th meeting of the major donors group for Syria under complex circumstances demonstrates its keenness to support the brotherly Syrian people in light of the inability of the international community to address the root causes of the seven-year crisis.


Qatari envoy to Ankara: Sanctions against Qatar groundless

In an interview with Anadolu Agency (AA) Tuesday, Shafi evaluated the Gulf crisis, saying that he was surprised by the recent turn of events. "These sanctions against Qatar are out of the line of religion, morality, culture, and neighborhood," said Shafi, as he indicated that the situation only humiliates the countries which imposed the sanctions.


Remarks on the Siege on the State of Qatar

HE the Director of Information Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar's surprise and denunciation of describing the current situation, of cutting off diplomatic and economic relations with Qatar and closing land, sea and air spaces as a boycott, despite international consensus that it is an illegal siege, pointing to remarks made by some officials in the GCC countries that severed their relations with Qatar.



Foreign Minister : Dialogue is Qatar's Strategic Choice to Resolve GCC Crisis

HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani was speaking at a press conference held in Paris and said that the State of Qatar is ready for a dialogue based on principles that respect international law. His Excellency stressed that dialogue is the strategic choice of the State of Qatar.



FIFA President Says Qatar World Cup Not Under Threat

FIFA president Gianni Infantino said on Sunday he does not believe the diplomatic crisis which involves 2022 World Cup host nation Qatar will threaten its hosting of the tournament. In an interview published in Swiss newspapers Le Matin Dimanche and Sonntagszeitung, Infantino said he expects the diplomatic situation will be back to normal by the time the tournament is played in five and a half years time.


Qatar's NHRC: Humanitarian Directives Lack Mechanism to Assist Those Affected

The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) of the State of Qatar described the recent directives issued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain regarding the humanitarian situation of mixed-citizenship families as too vague to have any practical impact and are void of a mechanism to be of assistance to those affected.
