HH the Emir Meets President of Turkish Union of Chambers

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met Wednesday at his Emiri Diwan office with Rifat Hisarciklioglu, president of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges at the Republic of Turkey and vice president of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Eurochambres), and his accompanying delegation who called upon HH the Emir to greet him on the occasion of their visit to the country to participate in the second Qatar Chamber SME Conference.


Qatar to Host Next Meeting for Major Syria Donors

HE Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Muraikhi, the U.N. secretary general's envoy for humanitarian affairs has announced that Qatar will host the next meeting for the major Syria donors so as to continue Kuwait's efforts in following up on the humanitarian situation and working to provide effective humanitarian and development response to enhance the capacity of affected Syrians to tackle humanitarian challenges.



Chairman of Qatar Chamber Highlights Importance of Private Sector

Qatar Chamber's 2nd SMEs Conference Launches Tuesday

Qatar Chamber's second conference on small- and medium-sized enterprises kicks off Tuesday in cooperation with the Turkish Union Of Chambers And Commodity Exchanges (TOBB). The conference takes place with the participation of 150 Turkish business owners led by TOBB President Rifat Hisarciklioglu.

QC to Establish 1000 Housing Units in Syria

Qatar Charity (QC) is preparing for the establishment of 1000 housing units (caravans) equipped with solar-powered and furnished to the people whose houses were completely demolished in several areas in Syria. QC said it had held a coordination meeting in Ankara to prepare for the shelter project within Syria, to be implemented in partnership with the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) in the coming weeks.


Aleppo Fundraising Campaign Auction Raises QR 3.2 Million

The organizing committee for the Qatar National Day celebrations announced that proceeds from the sale of a part of in-kind donations collected from the Aleppo fundraising campaign amounted to QR 1,875,000. Another sale of a range of gold jewelry displayed by humanitarian organizations that participated in the fundraising campaign reached QR 1,400,000. The auction, which was held in Dar Al Bahi Auction House at Katara on Monday evening, included a number of classic and modern motorcycles and distinctive number plates and various pieces of jewelry, as well as a range of accessories and antiquarian items. The committee launched Aleppo fundraising campaign on 18 December last year, and announced that it collected more than 290 million since the campaign launch in Darb El Saai along with in-kind donations for the people of Aleppo.
