Qatar Chamber, Turkish Chambers and Exchanges Union Sign Agreement

Doha, January 17 (QNA) - The opening session of the second Qatar Chamber SME Conference, currently underway in Doha, saw the signing of a cooperation agreement between Qatar Chamber and the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB).
Qatar Chamber Chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani signed the agreement along with TOBB President Rifat Hisarciklioglu.
The session featured a presentation on Expo Turkey, which will be held on April 18 at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC).
Speaking on that occasion, QNCC CEO Abdul Aziz Al Emadi said the goal of the exhibition is to cooperate with leading Turkish firms in many fields thanks to the strength of the Turkish economy and the Turkish momentum in industries and service sectors.
Al Emadi called on present Turkish businessmen at the conference to visit QNCC to learn about its capacities, which will be at their disposal during the event.
In turn, the deputy director general at the Turkish Ministry of Economy went through the sizable developments in his country's economy over the past few years, noting that Turkey has become one of the biggest 16 world economies.
He also reviewed some figures that demonstrate the strength of the Turkish economy in terms of economic growth, diversity of exports and deflation, highlighting the importance of the sector of small- and medium-sized enterprises in Turkish economy, which, he said, represents the backbone of the national economy as it accounts for a big portion of employment and contributes significantly to industrial products and Turkish exports.
