Turkish-Qatari Joint Commission on Economic and Technical Cooperation Holds 6th Session

Doha, November 10 (QNA) - The Turkish-Qatari Joint Commission on Economic and Technical Cooperation held today its sixth session, chaired by HE Qatar's Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, and Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Simsek , on the sidelines the 20th International Business Forum and Musiad International Fair, currently being held in Istanbul.
 A press release issued by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce today said that the Commission's meetings reviewed relations between the two friendly countries and ways of enhancing them as well as aspects of joint cooperation between the two countries, particularly with regard to economic and technical areas.
HE the Minister Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al -Thani, and Turkish Deputy Premier Mehmet Simsek signed the Minutes of the session which held a meeting at the expert level in Doha last October, to enhance cooperation in various sectors focusing on further developing joint economic and trade relations through the Qatari- Turkish Business Council , particularly in the light of developing ties between the two countries.
HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce noted the importance of the positive outcome and recommendations of the meetings to develop practical mechanisms to promote and expand the participation of the private sector in both countries during the coming period, pointing to the importance of the role that the private sector can play in the two countries.
HE the Minister also called for taking advantage of agreements and memoranda of understanding and cooperation signed in the economic, trade and technical fields to complete the programs and plans for sustainable development through small and medium enterprises, as well as activating the role of businessmen associations , chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries through the exchange of experiences.
HE the Minister added that these agreements and memoranda distributed to various sectors, including air transportation, encouragement of investment and economic and trade cooperation, energy and information, praising the bilateral ties which have been developing continuously under the leadership of the two countries. 

HE the Minister underscored the importance of promoting the exchange of direct investments with the presentation of the advantages and incentives offered by the Qatari market to for the Turkish investor, noting that the numerous economic developments taking place in the world makes it imperative for the two countries to work together to raise the trade volume to levels commensurate with the possibilities available and increase the flow of investment between them. 

 He also called for overcoming the difficulties and obstacles facing the development of relations between the two countries and the creation of mechanisms to maximize the private sector taking advantage of the investment incentives available in the two countries in order to strengthen bilateral ties and the development of joint investments for the good of both countries. 

HE the Minister also praised the outputs of the meetings of the sixth session of the Turkish Qatari Joint Commission on Economic and Technical Cooperation, and what can be achieved by the two countries of progress and expansion in various fields through what recommendations agreed upon.
